The movie Dale Resteghini and imagines a world where white men and women were enslaved and brutalised by black people.
Unfortunately, the very people its producers and investors hoped to win over have blasted the film’s premise because they suspect it is actually designed to reaffirm the fears of racists….and assumes that the African-American community is interested in engaging in the kind of horror it has been subjected to.

I find it hilarious that people are so outraged by this however us black people have to deal with a new s****/racist movie coming to theaters every 6 months. Don’t believe me? Look it up. Not saying I condone this film because no one I know has ever said they wish slavery roles were reversed. However maybe this will show non-people of color what we HAD to deal with and what we HAVE to deal with every 6 months in the theaters.

My thoughts exactly. The very same people (black people included) will pack the theaters to capacity for a “12 Years A S****” type of movie and have no problem with black men being depicted as slaves and savages because “we need to know our history”. I don’t condone this movie and won’t go see it, I didn’t watch “12 Years A S****”, “Harriet” or any of those movies either, but it’s interesting to see the reaction of people now that a fictional film is reversing the roles of slavery.
It won’t because the movie is being told from the point of view from a white man who is the victim in it. It’s almost like Kill Bill. Bill violates Beatrix and is the reason she spends years in a coma being abused by men yet when she finally meets him he’s a loveable father. You know why? Because the character Bill is in line with the movie’s director Quentin Tarantino and his world view. The movie may have had a “strong female lead” but none of the themes or storylines challenged misogyny, sexism or r*** culture. If anything it reinforced all of those things under the guise of “changing the narrative”. I promise you that the character’s r*** wouldn’t have been treated so casually if a woman of a non sexist man wrote the script. Read Uma Thurman’s account of what she went through on that set and you’ll see what I mean.

The main problem some people apparently have is that the series is created by white people, but how would it be any different if blacks produced what we see in the trailer? Either way, it portrays black people as lawless violent savages.
