‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ is officially returning to screens and promises to not avoid the drama that has engulfed the show and its host during its hiatus.
Full story below…
It’s been confirmed that the daytime talker will be back for its 18th season on Monday, September 21.
Speaking on the show’s next instalment, DeGeneres said in a statement:
“I can’t wait to get back to work and back to our studio. And, yes, we’re gonna talk about it.”
By “it,” the 62-year-old is of course referring to the allegations of the show having a “toxic” working environment behind the scenes. And while little was levelled against DeGeneres herself, she too was accused of inadvertently allowing the behaviors of senior figures.
In the wake of the wave of claims from past employees, Ellen put out a statement apologizing and taking accountability. Changes were announced, that saw executive depart and resident DJ tWitch upped to an executive producer.
Time will tell how audiences react.
In the here and now, it’s been confirmed that guests for premiere week of season 18 includes Kerry Washington, Alec Baldwin, and Chrissy Teigen.
Others set to appear throughout the show’s return month are Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Adam Sandler and Orlando Bloom.
Hopefully nobody watches and it’s cancelled.
I don’t wish anyone no harm but enough is enough. She’s a hypocrite. She keeps blaming it on her team because she can’t overlook anything but never adresses critics about her own disrespectful behavior. Bye already.
You see anything to save a white woman. This show should be cancelled.
