Those who have waited for Kanye West‘s ‘Donda’ album will have to wait a little bit longer.
The rapper took to Twitter – in a now since deleted tweet- on September 14 to announce that he is not putting out any more new music until his contracts with Sony and Universal are done.
His words below:
“I’m not putting no more music out till I’m done with my contract with Sony and Universal … On God … in Jesus name … come and get me.”
He appears to be referencing his publishing deal, which has been in contention, as well as his record deal too.
Ye’s latest offing, ‘Donda,’ was supposed to be released earlier this summer. However, it did not arrive as scheduled. The set is the follow-up to 2019’s ‘Jesus Is King.’

But in order for your contract to expire you have to fulfill the obligations 🤦🏽♂️ Which is music, so if you don’t put out music your contract will not close. It’s simple math Kanye

I’m no music industry expert but you have to release a certain amount of music before your contract expires then just don’t renew it. He’s clearly not the genius he claims to be
Which means you will never be released.. if you are contracted to produce X amount of Albums… you will not be released until you meet that amount..
This is only a good idea if he is exclusive to the label for a specified amount of time, or if the contract has an expiration date. Maybe he should have taken this idea two albums ago. Nobody is checking for your music sis, chill

RIGHT 🤣😆😄. He had me trying to figure out if he has a contract based of time. It’s simple. Just like Destiny’s Child releasing a best of album with one new song to fulfill their contract with Columbia/Sony. But at this point, his Sony/Universal might just drop his ass.
