Warner Bros has unwrapped an extended look hotly anticipated movie ‘In The Heights’ during the 2021 GRAMMYs.
‘Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda helms the hotly anticipated musical, which first rose to prominence as a Tony winner on the theater circuit.
Anchored by Anthony Ramos (and co-starring Corey Hawkins and Dascha Polanco), the film unfolds over the course of three days and shares the story of a disappearing block in a culturally diverse neighborhood of Washington Heights in NYC.

‘In The Heights’ lands in theaters and streaming exclusively on HBO Max (in the US) on June 18.
I am torn by this movie glad that it is coming to the big screen, sad that even when LatinX people tell our story it is only with white/light faces.
Afrolatinx people are still extras, background characters, basically an afterthought. Representation matters AfroLatinxs are beautiful, complex and deserve to be seen and heard.
I hope the trailer is misleading and black and brown latinx people play a bigger role in this movie.
