Check out Lizzo!
The chart-topping performer lights up the December issue of Essence Magazine.
Arriving on the heels of her recently released single ‘Rumors’ featuring Cardi B, the issue celebrates ‘The Year of Radical Self-Care.’ A reference, of course, to the unprecedented times the world has experienced and the ways the masses – including notable names – have managed to navigate forward.
Body positivity has been one of those ways and with Lizzo being synonymous with the term, she was naturally quizzed about it. Interestingly, she says she finds the topic (or more so, the need for it) “exhausting.”
Full story below…
Lizzo On The Body Positivity Discourse:
“It’s exhausting. And that’s the point. I don’t want to talk about this anymore. We should be neutral about bodies.”
On Breaking Away From Expectations Of Her As A Black Woman Making Music:
“No one’s ever right about me. I use 808s [the drum machine that characterizes most of today’s hip-hop and R&B], just not in the same way everyone else does. I have songs I could drop right now, but that’s just not my purpose. That’s not why God made me and put me on this planet at this exact time.”
Ahead of more from Lizzo’s Essence, what are…
Lizzo is full of s***. She literally centers her being around her morbidly obese body. She’s a crass, disgusting excuse for a woman. Not an ounce of class resides within her. We’re all sick of her attention seeking then playing victim, hence her comeback single flopping hard. Bye gurl.
Except, haterz miss the bigger picture. Lizzo is not a stand at the mic singer (aka Adele, Mariah, Kelly Price 🎙 She is a PERFORMER – and even if she NEVER made any reference to her body do you think the media would have left this big black woman alone? They would have come for her at every turn because she doesn’t look like the typical cookie cutter performer who makes her style of music. She’s damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t – but that isn’t a reason to hide at home and collect welfare cheques when you know you can switch up the game.
Unfortunately, we do not know what the media would have done because she was too quick to make a fool out of herself then play the victim. The media and everyone else just sat back and watched the spectacle. Laughing anyway. She COULD HAVE been a beacon for larger women everywhere by hiring high-fashion designers to give her nice fashions BUT she decided to be crass, then cry about it.
This!!! Lizzo is f****** disgusting and tacky to say the least! I’m all for body positivity but she does the most where it isn’t required. Her talent could easily speak for itself yet she wants to be a fat stunt queen. No ones hating on her ass. She craves attention and backlash. The public moved on because of her constant FOOLERY!
This is so BORING. Her entire shtick is her being “proud” of her body. It’s tragic that we all know the honest truth because she had a nervous breakdown on social media betraying her false narrative. We know that she’s depressed and that she puts on a manic show to fool herself. Her talent should be the narrative but then she goes and puts on a mesh potato sack with rhinestones calling herself Rihanna when she really looked like Grimace from McD’s commercials.
Miss Fat pork chop 💅🏿
Y’all are so mean, I guess most of you were picked on as kids
You don’t have to project your brokenness everytime you see someone you ENVY
It’s okay. That’s why they are on magazine covers and you are here hating your own existence
Leave this girl alone
Lizzo is nobodies victim cut it out. She brings it on herself by being crass and uncouth 24/7. And frankly everyone’s tired of her b*******. Trust me no one envies this trifling chick. 🤣
She’s so fat and nasty!!! Worse than Shayla and his knock kneed grandma 💀💀💀
She’s the only one that brings it up; nobody cares Lmaooo
