BTS continues its reign over the charts.
For, their new album – ‘Proof’ – has launched atop the coveted Billboard 200 chart.
More details below…
Per Billboard, the set opens with a massive 314,000 equivalent album units during its first week. Of that sum, album sales comprised the majority of the units sold with 266,000 units. As for streaming units, 36,000 came from 52.84 million on-demand official streams and track equivalent units equated to 12,000 units.
Moreover, ‘Proof’ earns BTS the year’s biggest week for an album by a group. The only larger sales week this year belongs to Harry Styles‘ ‘Harry’s House’ album, which debuted with over 500,000 units.
With its debut atop the Billboard 200 chart, ‘Proof’ becomes BTS’ sixth album to reach the chart’s summit. They previously reached the top with ‘Love Yourself Tear,’ ‘Love Yourself Answer,’ ‘Map of the Soul: PERSONA,’ ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: 7,’ and ‘BE.’
The news of their latest chart-topper comes after it was announced the boys would be taking a hiatus to record solo projects (as we reported here).
And it’s only a best of!
