Adele is renown for big sales and big breaks between projects. And while the former has proven true of her latest effort ’30,’ a new report suggests the wait for its follow-up won’t be as long.

Citing sources allegedly close to developments, The Sun has claimed that the British belter has “secretly” recorded a brand new album.

While the material that catapulted her to global megastardom has been anchored in the lovelorn, the new LP is touted as reflecting the happy space she’s in with beau Rich Paul. 

What’s more, it’s being suggested that talks are underway for the album to arrive as somewhat of a “surprise” drop. Possibly in a matter of weeks.

“Some of 30 was actually recorded before the pandemic hit so Adele was sat on the record for ages during lockdown.

Since then her life has totally transformed. She has gone from rock bottom to being madly in love and wants the world to know it.

Her music reflects that and the next album will be her most optimistic ever. She won’t be the queen of heartbreak ballads for much longer.”

It goes without saying that this would represent quite the pivot for Ms. Adkins and we’d be here for it.

There’s undeniably a prestige and qualitative sheen that has traditionally surrounded albums that have been slow-baked over time. Cue the age-old adage: you can’t rush greatness.

That said, as the industry has gathered from the likes of Taylor Swift with her ‘Lover’ – ‘Folklore’ – ‘Evermore’ arc and Ariana Grande swiftly following up ‘Sweetener’ with ‘Thank U, Next,’ there can be a lot of value in keeping the pedal to the metal. Especially in this streaming climate, which rewards those who essentially “feed the machine.” For, those who release often tend to create the perfect swirl of streaming momentum around both new and catalog material.

Put simply, this could benefit Adele in a major way.
