Ashanti and Nelly have had ample cause to celebrate with news of the singer’s pregnancy with their first child together.

Yet, in an interesting reveal, it’s been confirmed that the pair – who revealed their engagement alongside news of the songbird’s pregnancy – have been celebrating their marriage for months.

Yes, the couple actually tied the knot months ago.

Per TMZ, public records, Ashanti and Nelly were legally married on December 27, 2023 – six months ago!

The docs don’t specify where exactly the nuptials took place. However, the paperwork does relay that the marriage was made official in St. Louis County. As such, it appears Nelly’s hometown is where it went down.

News of the wedding is interesting. Because, during a new maternity shoot captured by ET, Ashanti claimed she had a date in mind for the big day and, when quizzed, insisted that it wouldn’t be while she was pregnant. Indicating she’d be walking down the aisle post-delivery. In the same interview, she stressed how private she and Nelly are.

Suffice it to say, the latter definitely holds true.
