Though still basking in the success of her latest #1 album ‘The Light of the Sun’, Jill Scott‘s former record label home Hidden Beach Recordings is already readying another release. The collection, entitled ‘The Original Jill Scott: From the Vault, Vol. 1’, will hit shelves tomorrow (August 30th).
However, fans who can’t wait that long have been welcomed to a special treat – a stream of the album in its entirety. Take a listen after the jump:
The Original Jill Scott from the Vault Vol. 1 (Deluxe) by hiddenbeach
There will reportedly be two different versions of the LP with each having a different album artwork. While the standard version will include 11 previously unheard songs from Scott, the deluxe will feature bonus live tracks, a 20-page booklet (with lyrics), and more decorative packaging.

When I listened to the snippets of “The Original Jill Scott: From the Vault, Vol. 1″ two weeks ago, I KNEW I was buying this album.

I downloaded it already. It’s a pretty good album. Definitely not her main type of sound, but still a good addition to a collection. GET IT! It’s JILLY from PHILLY!

Luv, Luv, Luv Jill Scott. But I can’t support anything from Hidden Beach. For the years she was with them, they never showcased her amazing talent. So now, after her No. 1 album, they scramble to dig out some songs. I’m sure they’re good, but missjillscott.com is official. Hidden Beach wishes they were!!

The #1 album “The Light of the Sun” will NEVER sell what “Who is Jill Scott” sold, so what is your point again?

@Kim Marrow it was not all hidden beaches fault. theres is blame on both sides. If your true Jill fan then you will support her with this record cause she will will receive benefit of it more than hidden beach. if you don’t support her then you’ll punishing her not hidden beach.
Im a Jilly STAN and I looove this album and to me it is a better reflection of her art than “The Light of the Sun” which was a bit uneven in my opinion.
Also, just so you know “The Light of the Sun” sold LESS than her previous album “Vol 3.” in its first week @KimMarrow
