Britney Spears‘ life has been quite the movie in and of itself. And now, the superstar’s story will be heading to the big screen – on her terms.
Full story below…
It has been confirmed that Universal Pictures has landed the film rights to the performer’s mega-selling memoir, ‘The Woman in Me.’
With the wheels officially in motion for Spears’ biopic, details have begun to emerge.
Jon M. Chu, who is spearheading ‘Wicked’ starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, has been tapped to direct. Marc Platt is on board as the film’s producer.
In tandem with the news, the singer took to X and tweeted:
“Excited to share with my fans that I’ve been working on a secret project with Marc Platt. He’s always made my favorite movies … stay tuned.”
Spears’ life has been comprised of the material that has delivered some of Hollywood’s biggest hits.
From her meteoric rise to her high-profile relationships to her mid-00s breakdown and the conservatorship it sparked. Then, of course, there is her emancipation from that legal mandate that governed her personal and professional life for 13 years.
Spears may only be 42, but her story has many chapters.
Will you be watching?
Britney, u better sue the crap outta Halsey since she has more money than u do now.
Her story doesn’t have the ending we want to see for someone of her age and potential.
what ending are you looking for?
Something uplifting, as opposed to the continued questions about her mental health, the strange Instagram dances and people making her out to be insane after fighting with family online, the Wemby incident and another divorce. Her story isn’t finished and there is plenty left for her to accomplish – it’s too soon for a biopic.
Hopefully the film doesn’t end with hundreds of spinning dance videos. I’m waiting for Britney to get sh ! t together. If Christina can work hard and look this good again, so can Britney. She’s only 42. That’s how this film should end
Ooh this is either gonna be bad or real juicy with a lot of lawsuits flying lol
It’s going to be a ghetto hillbilly mess.
