During an episode of his sports talk show, It Is What It Is, the New York rapper revealed that he’s finally dropping new music – his first since 2004.
Mase’s decision to release new music comes after years of tension with his former label boss, Diddy (born Sean Combs).
The two have had a long-running feud, with Mase accusing Diddy of withholding royalties from his music and criticizing his business practices.
Now, Mase is moving forward with his music and clarified that he’s not just releasing any tracks—he’s listening closely to Cam’ron’s curated lineup for the album.
He explained:
“It’s gonna be crazy. We had to pick the right records.”
The surprising part of Mase’s announcement came when he revealed the release date for his long-awaited project – the first day of Diddy’s trial, which is scheduled for May 5:
“The first day of the Diddy trial. We’re dropping. Do you like that? You made me put it out there. I wasn’t going to put that out there, but Mo, you made me.”
