Barbershop is heading back to the small screen.

As previously reported, the beloved comedy franchise is being revived as a new television series on Amazon Prime Video. Now, its official premiere date has been set.

Full story below…

Prime Video will premiere all eight episodes of the series on February 10, 2027.

Jermaine Fowler leads the comedy as Travis “Trav” Walker, who returns to Chicago looking to honor his grandfather’s legacy at Calvin’s barbershop.

According to the official logline, the shop has changed and so has the city. Trav finds himself struggling to carve out his place among a new crew of barbers and loyal customers.

Still, Calvin’s remains the neighborhood hub audiences know well, serving up sharp fades, sharper opinions, and a community that always has something to say.

The ensemble also includes Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr., E.J. Bonilla, Bresha Webb, Bokeem Woodbine, Tiana Okoye, and Langston Kerman.

Guest stars include Zack Fox, Ego Nwodim, Ziwe, and Tituss Burgess.

Marshall Todd, who co-wrote the original film, serves as showrunner alongside Max Searle. Kevin Hart executive produces through Hartbeat, with the series hailing from Amazon MGM Studios.

The project marks the second time ‘Barbershop’ has been adapted for television. Showtime previously aired a sitcom led by Omar Gooding, though it lasted just one season.

Across the big screen, the franchise has remained a proven draw. Its three main films have grossed nearly $200 million worldwide, with 2016’s ‘Barbershop: The Next Cut’ bringing the likes of Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Eve, Common, and Nicki Minaj together for its most recent cinematic outing.
