According to TMZ, the Olympic track star was taken into custody on Thursday in the Orlando area after authorities alleged she was driving at dangerously high speeds.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reportedly charged the 25-year-old with excessive speeding, claiming she was traveling at 100 miles per hour or more.
Officials allege the polarizing sprinter was not only speeding, but also tailgating other drivers and weaving across lanes in an attempt to pass traffic, prompting officers to intervene.
Word is that Richardson remains in custody as of this writing and is being held on a $500 bond.
The arrest marks the second time in recent months that the decorated athlete has found herself entangled in legal drama.
Last summer, she was arrested following an altercation involving her boyfriend, fellow track star Christian Coleman. That matter has since been resolved.
