Sabrina Carpenter stirred up more than ‘Espresso’ at Coachella 2026.

For, the Pop starlet has found herself at the center of controversy after her reaction to an audience member’s audible noises sparked debate in earnest.

While performing at the kick-off of the colossal festival, Carpenter was momentarily startled when hearing what turned out to be a native Arabic chant.

In the moment, she bemoaned the “weird” noise.

Viewers flooded social media with messages such as:

“Sabrina saying that she doesn’t like a cultural arabic cheer… this is so insensitive and islamophobic. i am very disappointed in her.”

Interestingly, the footage appears to be getting removed from social media as soon as it resurfaces.

Still, the sting has been potent. So much so that it has prompted a response from Carpenter.

Taking to X, she wrote:

“My apologies i didn’t see this person with my eyes and couldn’t hear clearly. my reaction was pure confusion, sarcasm and not ill intended. could have handled it better! now i know what a Zaghrouta is! I welcome all cheers and yodels from here on out.”
