A$AP Rocky is adding another honour to his resume. The rapper will receive the inaugural Tribeca X Filmmaker of the Year Award.

Tribeca X, the Tribeca Festival’s flagship program for brand-supported storytelling, announced the news exclusively. Consequently, the award recognizes Rocky for his work in music, fashion, film, design, and brand storytelling.

The ceremony will take place June 8–9 at Spring Studios. Furthermore, it coincides with the 25th annual Tribeca Festival.

“Today’s cultural landscape is being defined by artists and entrepreneurs who push creative boundaries,” said Rebecca Glashow, CEO of Tribeca Enterprises. “A$AP Rocky represents the kind of genre-defying visionary the inaugural award was created to honor.”

In addition to Rocky, the lineup includes Cedric the Entertainer, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, Judith Light, and Dhar Mann.

Tribeca X also announced official selections for its awards program. Moreover, brands featured include Converse, Google, Netflix, TikTok, Red Bull, and Coca-Cola.

Lena Waithe, Daniel Cherry III, and Juliana Cobb will serve on the awards jury.

Rocky has expanded his creative footprint far beyond music. For instance, he has directed music videos, launched fashion collaborations, and shaped visual storytelling across multiple platforms.
