‘He Belongs’ appears on Aiko’s new album, ‘Westside Whimsy.’ Its lyrics chronicle the pain of discovering that a romantic partner was reportedly leading a double life.
Given Jhené’s long and highly publicized relationship with Sean, some listeners immediately connected the narrative to the Detroit rapper.
However, Aiko responded from her verified account:
“Song is not about him.”
Jhené did not identify the track’s inspiration or say whether its storyline was autobiographical.
