A very blonde Nicki Minaj broke out her little black dress for the red carpet yesterday in New York City. The Harajuku Barbie, who joined country pop star Taylor Swift in accepting honors bestowed by Billboard, walked away with the coveted Billboard “Rising Star” Award in recognition of her debut efforts.
The accolade comes as the latest of many decorating the rising starlet’s trophy case. And, in addition to celebrating the warm reception of ‘Roman In Moscow’ (the first offering from her sophomore effort ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded‘), Minaj also celebrated news of her nomination for Best New Artist for the 2012 Grammy Awards.

She’s worked hard and has a good team, and that’s great.
I do think the whole “era of gimmicks” is winding down, and if she slowly comes off of crazy hair/outifts all of the time she’ll have some staying power. I wouldn’t say she’s the best performer and I don’t like all the other “stuff” but she’s a hard worker with a lot of talent. GOOD for her!
