Beyonce and her mother, Tina Knowles, appear in the first of a number of print ads for American Express. The ‘Deja Vu’ singer was announced as the spokesperson for the company and will feature in both print and TV ads for the ‘AMEX’ campaign. Airbrushed or whatever, she’s looking flawless.
In other Beyonce news, the 26 year old star made an interesting comment in a recent interview with Latina Magazine:
“I’m just jealous that I wasn’t born Latina. I wish I had been because the culture is so beautiful.”
Ok, so where was her publicist? I’m sure she meant to word what she said differently, but this foolishness cannot be justified. Already criticized by some for not being ‘ethnic’ enough, this is unlikely to help matters.

The dress i cool. She looks a bit puzzled though. Her comment is odd… Afterall, if she thinks the culture’s beautiful, she can learn Spanish and traditions, and all that other stuff. Why does she have to be born Latina?

I think Beyonce was trying to compliment the Latin population, but her comment ended up sounded like a back hand comment toward African-Americans instead … at least in my opinion.
I’m sure Beyonce knows that African-Americans have a beautiful and rich culture as well.
I wonder what non-Latin Dj’s and interviewers think of her comment that when she goes to the Latin stations the people seem to be genuine. Is she implying that the others are not.

I think b’s comment was taken out of content she was just complimenting her latin listeners probably trying to get them to buy the b-day cd her sells were down the toilet and besides who wouldn’t want to be ”Shakira,Shakira”Brains and beauty unlike b who didn’t show a whole lot of brains in this comment-p.s not such a smart move b

WTF!!! The last comment is having me defend Bey!! IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM does Rhianna look or sing better than Bey! No it has not been her year but Rhianna will NEVER top Bey!! Being Latino/a is just that a cultural designation, not a race. The only reason why this comment would be take out of context is if people believe Latino is a race. People need to educate themselves before getting upset; therefore, they’ll know when to get angry and when to let it go. There are many black people who are Latinos. Now the question is, does Beyonce know or understand this distinction?
