In what comes as, somewhat, of a surprise, it has been announced that Solange Knowles has signed a new recording contract with Geffen Records. The deal, which sees Knowles move to Los Angeles, is a joint-venture between Geffen and Music World Music. Geffen is home to major artists such as Mary J. Blige, Fergie and Keyshia Cole. ‘Solange and The Hadley Street Dreams’, Knowles’ debut for the label, is set to hit stores early next year. {Source}That’s what I’m talking about! I applaud her for being the first in the Knowles camp to spread her wings and do her own thing. What I’ve heard of her new material has been promising and I’m anticipating the record even more so now. Kelly Rowland, take notes…

True, Kelly does need to ‘get-up-pon dat’ and move away from the Knowles, she’s no longer with Destiny child so she can do whatever she wants… and that new song i dislike it
On Solange, her tittle doesnt really sound promising, it sounds like her CD will be based just on slow R&B songs but you never know… I only say that because i havent heard anything from it, and from her last album was the same thing…

I’ll keep an open mind about Solange I don’t really rate her voice to much but we’ll see as for Kelly true that, she needs to do a Letoya and bounce look at Letoya now and who knew Letoya coudl sing until Torn I started to realise Kelly could really sing during the Survivor album but she needs to come out of the DC shadow and her thing,
I think that is a really good move on Solange’s part. I saw her at the Essence Music Festival and she can really sing well live. Her voice is a lot higher than her sister and she gave a really good show. I will definitely look out for her new CD.

Solange does not have the best voice but she is very creative and is a really good songwriter. I liked her last album. I was surprised at how good it was.
