After three years out of action, the quarterback took to social media to reveal that he’s been called up for a private workout in Atlanta, with multiple reports confirming that a lengthy list of teams have been invited:
As widely reported, Kaepernick – who last played in 2016 for the San Francisco 49ers – has been at the centre of a global storm surrounding his kneeling protest.
Many took up for the star, who would take a knee during the US National Anthem before games in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.
His arguable exile shortly after ignited national and international debate and cast doubt over whether he’d ever play again. Doubt his lawsuit against the NFL (which he subsequently settled) looked to deepen.
However, it looks as though change may be on the horizon. Finally.
