The 2020 Wimbledon tennis tournament is the latest casualty of the current coronavirus outbreak.
For, the annual extravaganza has just been cancelled.

In a statement issued by organizers, it was officially confirmed that the tournament – which has oft been dominated by Serena Williams – will not be taking place this year. Instead, present circumstances mean it’ll be back in summer 2021.
The announcement read:
It is with great regret that the AELTC has today decided that The Championships 2020 will be cancelled due to public health concerns linked to the coronavirus epidemic.
The 134th Championships will instead be staged from 28 June to 11 July 2021.https://t.co/c0QV2ymGAt

With the pandemic wreaking havoc across the live entertainment space, Wimbledon’s axing comes in the wake of similar cancellations of the 2020 Olympics and Glastonbury.
