Christian Cooper: ‘I Accept Amy’s Apology’ / ‘Her Life Shouldn’t Be Defined By This’ [Video]

Published: Thursday 28th May 2020 by Rashad

As we reported here, African American Harvard graduate and former Marvel editor Christian Cooper is calling for a ‘cease-fire’ of sorts against Amy Cooper – a White woman who called the police to falsely report he had threatened her in Central Park after he asked her to obey city orders to leash her dog on the public property.

Inciting conversations about racial privilege in the process, Christian – during a media blitz that’s seen him converse with the nation’s top TV and print outlets – argues some people have taken their defense tactics to the extreme by wishing death on the woman (who has already lost her job as a result of the backlash).

After empathizing with her predicament on CNN earlier this week, Christian and his sister Melody took to Thursday’s episode of ‘The View’ (May 28) to reiterate the empathized stance.  This time, going on record to say he accepts Amy’s apology for their May 25 altercation.

I don’t see why we should care that this woman lost her job for being racist, when people are losing their lives for being black. As far as I’m concerned, she got a slap on the wrist. White women facing consequences is always made to seem like the end of the woorrrllldd. No one f*****g cares. *plays the saddest song on the worlds tiniest violin*

If one-on-one empathy and forgiveness is in his heart, fine. So be it.

But It is SO ridiculous that this grown as man, doesn’t comprehend the bigger picture and systemic history of incidents like this.

How PUBLICLY DEFENDING and letting this pos racist white woman ‘off the hook’, does nothing to hold people like her FULLY accountable.

AND it’s a slap in the face to other black and brown people, who have to deal with these type of (non-filmed) encounters daily

His sorry sympathetic self, can go sit with Judge Tammy Kemp, Botham Jean’s brother Brandt and all their ilk.

I don’t think he’s defending her but rather just acknowledging we all make mistakes. Would you want a mistake you made to define you? The lady has lost her job, dog, and have publicly been shamed and dragged. How much further is there to go with it? What she did was horrible and has , sadly, been a common occurrence for centuries. I think shining a light on these racists is a good start in fighting back. She tried it, we fought back. Moving on…

He only dates White men so of course he’s saying this. He doesn’t want to p*** off his dating pool. And yes, this isn’t hearsay, it’s verified.

I’m tired of coons like this. Get a spine. She is racist and if it went the way of many other black men, your dumb a$$ would be 6 feet under. Again, stop the cooning

This women literally tried to have you killed. If Monica Lewinsky sucking one d*** can define her life, then Amy Cooper can eat this L to.
