Social media has branded her #CloseupKaren and #CentralParkKaren, but in real life Amy Cooper – the Vice President of Investment Solutions at Franklin Templeton – is probably not wanting to get anywhere near a camera after becoming the center of a firestorm of controversy stemming from the false report she filed against an African American man.

As seen in the video above (originally posted to Twitter May 25 by his sister), an African American man requested Cooper place her dog on a leash in New York City’s Central Park as the public property clearly advises pets must be on a leash from 9am to 9pm in the Ramble – a protected nature reserve between 73rd and 78th Streets.
Instead of complying with his request, Cooper called the police and falsely claimed he was threatening her life. When her calm request for police assistance wasn’t met with urgency, she got hysterical.
“I’m sorry I can’t hear,” she cries.“I’m being threatened by a man in the Ramble, please send the cops immediately.”
So distracted by her lies she began to inadvertently choke her dog, it was its grunts that caused her to place the pet on a leash. As of time reported, it is unclear if the police ever arrived, but the man’s sister said he is okay.
The same may not be said for Cooper, however. As a result of the incident, not only have calls increased for her arrest but many social media users have begun contacting her employer demanding she be fired.
