Moments after George Floyd‘s family attorney Benjamin Crump took to Twitter to report the arrest of the remaining ex-officers responsible for Floyd’s death (as we reported here), the Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison officially announced their charges.
The public was already alerted to the arrest of Derek Chauvin (the former officer directly responsible for the death of Floyd) as his third-degree murder charge was upgraded to second-degree murder.
Likewise, the three other officers who were fired alongside him – Tou Thao, Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng – went from uncharged to charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder, according to court documents.
