Moments ago, the Duke & Duchess of Sussex trumpeted the news of their new arrival, whose name pays tribute to key figures in their family.
Their daughter, who was born on June 4, is named Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
Her first name is a homage to Queen Elizabeth’s family nickname – Lilbet.
While Diana, of course, refers to Prince Harry’s mother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
Delivered at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California, Lili weighed 7 lbs 11 oz.
The youngster is the second child for the couple, who are also parents to two-year-old son Archie.
A statement on behalf of the popular pair read:
“Both mother and child are healthy and well, and now settling in at home.
The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family.”
