New updates have arrived in the case of the men who killed Ahmaud Arbery.

In news just in, a jury found defendants Travis McMichael, his father Greg McMichael, and their neighbor William Bryan guilty on all counts in a federal hate crimes trial.
The three men were charged with violating Arbery’s civil rights, kidnapping, and in the case of the McMichaels, there was an additional charge for use of a firearm to commit a crime.
In total, the jury deliberated over the decision for four hours NPR reports.
Previously, the three of them had been convicted of murdering Arbery (as we reported here). As a result, they were sentenced to life in prison.
In a statement, Arbery’s mother said:
“As a mother I will never heal. They gave us a small sense of victory, but we will never get victory because Ahmaud is dead.”
The federal charges can carry a maximum life sentence. The defendants will have 14 days to file appeals. A sentencing date will be set for later date.
