Stefon Diggs is facing a major off-field storm just as his first season in New England reaches a critical high point.
The New England Patriots player, who is also notable for dating Cardi B, has been charged with felony strangulation or suffocation, along with misdemeanor assault, according to court records.

The alleged incident dates back to early December and has now thrust the NFL standout into the legal spotlight.
Filed on December 29 in Dedham District Court, the charge stems from an alleged incident that reportedly occurred on December 2.
During a remote court appearance, Diggs’ attorney, Michael DiStefano, pushed to have the police report impounded, arguing that the details should remain sealed while the case proceeds.
The New England Patriots quickly issued a statement backing their star receiver.
“Stefon has informed the organization that he categorically denies the allegations. We support Stefon. We will continue to gather information and will cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities and the NFL as necessary.”
Beyond the drama, the star celebrated the November birth of his son with girlfriend Cardi B.
As of writing, Diggs is set to be arraigned on January 23, 2026, though the judge indicated the date could be pushed to March.
Sigh.
