U.S. President Donald Trump may seemingly have his hands full with that ongoing war in the Middle East, but – as sports commentator and political hopeful Stephen A. Smith is learning – the Commander-in-Chief is never so busy he can’t engage in a war of words via social media.

Smith, a longtime proponent of Trump, ruffled the President’s feathers when he said the 79-year-old’s appearance at the New York Knicks’ NBA Finals game earlier this week would a detriment to the city.  This, after he also openly criticized the Commander-in-Chief’s America First policies, policies toward the affordability crisis, and more.

Unceremoniously booed by attendees of the game, the leader of the free world later took aim at Stephen during an interview – claiming the sports commentator with presidential aspirations lacked the “aptitude” and “IQ” to ever hold the highest office in the USA.

On Wednesday morning (June 10), Trump took to Truth Social to double down on the stance.

“Stephen A. Smith is an arrogant fool, a low IQ individual. In other words, he’s ‘dumb as a rock,’ and totally unqualified to ever think of running for high political office, or even low political office, for that matter! He’d get annihilated in a debate by the most incompetent of politicians,” Donald told his 12.8 million followers on the platform. “Joe Biden’s now ‘fabled’ performance would look great by comparison to anything that this loudmouth huckster has to offer, which isn’t much! Within a few weeks, they’d laugh him out of politics!”

Stephen wasted little time responding to the President’s initial insults. Taking to Instagram, the 58-year-old challenged Trump to a debate “any time, anywhere.”
