The hype may have calmed following the premiere of TLC‘s biopic last year, yet for former manager Pebbles the dramatics have only just begun.
According to new reports, the 49-year-old remains unimpressed with how she was depicted in the VH1 movie and is looking to be compensated.

Page Six claims that the former singer, real name Perri Reid, is suing VH1’s parent company Viacom for a whopping $40 million over ‘CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.”
The report adds that Reid filed the suit in Atlanta federal court, charging that the 2013 flick portrays her “as a conniving and dishonest business woman who hoodwinked three innocent girls and exploited their talent for her own personal gain.”
Additionally, Pebble claims that Viacom “ignored fundamental canons of journalistic and literary conduct by publishing false and defamatory accusations with actual malice.”

What she doesn’t realize is that by doing this, she’s confirming how she was portrayed in the movie; as a conniving, money hungry demon. She doesn’t have a case. She signed off on allowing VH1 to use her name & likeness. The actress who played her spent time with her in order to prepare for the movie. The type of “businesswoman” she is, she most likely got a preview of the movie before it aired on TV. She knew exactly how she was being portrayed. Her problem is that she wasn’t expecting the reaction to be so harsh & her feelings got hurt. Fact of the matter is, what she’s claiming in her lawsuit is exactly what she did; she hoodwinked three innocent girls and exploited their talent for her own personal gain. If her suit is not thrown out of court, it’s gonna backfire on her. God don’t like ugly.
