Arguably the strongest series in Haim Saiban‘s ‘Power Rangers’ franchise, the ‘Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers’ is to be revived this year, reignited by ‘Lionsgate’ to create a new movie based on its original storyline!

Twenty one years after it debuted on Saban‘s ‘Fox Kids’, ‘Mighty Morphin’ has seen Mark Rachesky’s ‘Lionsgate Entertainment’ begin work on a feature film re-telling the series’ story, which has welcomed a total of 20 spin-offs as of 2013.
Saban revealed:
“Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level. They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from ‘The Hunger Games’ to ‘Twilight’ and ‘Divergent.’ In partnership with the Lionsgate team, we’re confident that we will capture the world of the Power Rangers and translate it into a unique and memorable motion picture phenomenon with a legacy all its own.”
It should noted that this would mark the second cinematic serving of the show, with 1995 bringing with it ‘Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: The Movie’, directed by Bryan Spicer.
