  2. FutureCIARA September 25, 2014

She look more like Ciara than she do Aaliyah, but that’s none of my business.
Let’s just hope it gets better ratings than the HBO On The FLOP tour!

    • Iconic Cici September 25, 2014

Lol @ on the flop tour.

    • metzo September 25, 2014

It sure will If it’s being aired on a BASIC non-paid for network.
HBO is not free. Just a reminder.

      • Iconic Cici September 25, 2014

The excuses tho Bey and Jay should’ve done no less than 1.5 million with all the hype and media attention they’ve been getting.

    • kingbeybitch September 25, 2014

You mean the On the run tour that pulled in 2.6 million views and it second behind Mj who has 3.5 mil Lool gurl sit

      • SMH September 25, 2014

Biitch stop lying. It did 1.74 million and was one of their lowest rated concert specials. MJ did 17 million and Janet did 15 million. It was a televison FLOP.

    • let’s be real September 25, 2014

hunny?when will ciara have ANY televised special? lol never! people forget the tour was on HBO not fox.a premium network that a lot of people dont have and i know ciara fans can’t afford it so why comment?

This looks good tho tbh.im excited

    • BeyRihLiyah September 25, 2014

simple simple simple minded flopfailure trying to talk shittttt about the on the run tour when Ciara cant even book a side walk worry about he-ara’s fourth flop album that’s about to come out

    • NOT HERE FOR IT! September 25, 2014

LOL Not a Ci-Hermaphrodite fan talking about flops, girl, have a seat.

Anyway, I wish Zendaya would have stayed on, she resembles Aaliyah more.

      • Someone September 25, 2014

In no way does zendaya resemble Aaliyah. She hardly even resembles a black person.

    • TRUTH SERUM September 25, 2014

Yet those 888k viewers are more than Ciara 3 last album sales combined…

Ciara is the ultimate flop that no one cares for…

Not even her creepy baby daddy who knocks any chick up given the chance…

      • FutureCIARA September 25, 2014

Not comparing HBO ratings to Album sales…… Ch…

    • taty September 25, 2014

  3. BeyRihLiyah September 25, 2014

TRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! life time is trying to do my baby girl foul and im not having it fuccck that bitchhhhh wendy and lifetime this biopic will flop just like the others

  4. Late September 25, 2014

    This is not a trailer.
It’s more like a teaser. The title of this post is quite deceiving.
Either way, I’m excited for this story to finally be told, even though it’s been over ten years since she passed.

  5. Iconic Cici September 25, 2014

    Not here for it.

  6. Applause September 25, 2014

Hopefully it doesn’t flop like Rihannas 777 documentary or Beyonce HBO flop tour.

    • IJS September 25, 2014

      Or Artpop

    • Someone September 25, 2014

Let’s not act like Gaga hasn’t flopped for an entire era.

  7. Ok September 25, 2014

Who cast Jehne Aiko to play Aaliyah?

    • TerrellAiko September 26, 2014

LMFAO, Funniest comment ever…..I love jhene aiko but this s*** is hilarious

  8. kingbeybitch September 25, 2014

@Applause On The Run HBO’s viewing numbers 1,714,000 watched & tweeted, 888,000 watched only. It also beat out gaga with 1.2 now sit

  9. STR8FACTS September 25, 2014

Not here for it. Not even a little bit. This may get good ratings but it will never reach it’s full potential because so many people are against it. Die hard Aaliyah fans will not be tuned in, that’s already a good 80% of the audience. The other 20% will be tuning in just to be nosey and in that 20% there will be people watching who didn’t really know much about Aaliyah because she wasn’t from their generation. All in all it’s a shame that they even continued with this knowing that neither her family or any close friends have participated. What can they honestly tell us about Aaliyah that we don’t already know? The book it’s based off of isn’t even all that great honestly. Any one can watch Aaliyah’s E! True Hollywood Story or Behind The Music to get a feel of who she really was, and that’s just a ‘feel’. It’s a shame because now if the family decides to make a motion picture a lot of people won’t be interested because they’ll think they have gotten everything from this little B.S. movie. SMH

    R.I.P. Babygirl.

    • BeyRihLiyah September 25, 2014

THANK YOU !!! for this you pretty said what I was exactly what I was thinking

    • Late September 25, 2014

I agree with mist of what you said. I’m a big Aaliyah fan and i’m actually of the age where I can appreciate her impact on R&B music, as I grew up in her era. I will be watching because I’ve been wanting her story to be told in a cinematic way for some time, but it’s clear that after 13 years, her family is not going to be putting their energy behind any kind of movie any time soon. There was momentum when Keishia Chante was the frontrunner to play her, but too much time has passed.

I think it’ll be interesting to see how things pan out. At first when I heard about the TLC movie, although I LOVED TLC, I wasn’t sure if this generation would care, but I was wrong. That movie brought 2 generations together- those who grew up with TLC and those who were too young to know their legacy. I feel the same thing will happen with Aaliyah.

    • realtalk September 25, 2014

This is the thing that I’m getting from this so called movie that Wendy was dying to put her name on it. She wants the story to be told about the life and days of Alliah in her early years and being married to R. Kelly at 15/16 years of age. Her life being with Damon Dash/Jay z and Roc Fella era. Wendy is still very messy.

  10. Special Delivery September 25, 2014

Flop! Only here for Whitney biopic. TRUE legends.

    • BeyRihLiyah September 25, 2014

but yet you stan for bridget Kelly didn’t roc nation drop that flop bittttch #oops? when is the album coming oh wait how about its never coming

      • Special Delivery September 25, 2014

But I don’t though. So you couldve kept that. NEXT>>>>

  11. Did you say Justin Bieber, one Direction, miley, lady gaga or beyoncè.(My gal G dragged Molly on twitter) September 25, 2014

the way her family wanted her treated with more respect than Mj,elvis, whitney & the beetles combined was sickening.yuck

    • BeyRihLiyah September 25, 2014

correction her extended family her uncle and cousin who owned her label was the ones doing that because their trying to make money off of her…, Aaliyahs Immediate family (mother and brother) don’t want a movie period whether it was small screen or big screen nor do they want new music released

      • Lmfao_Hoe September 25, 2014

I understand where everyone is coming from with this matter but come on. How the hell does Aaliyah ‘ family expect people (generations) to remember her legacy if you won’t put her music/movie out there ! For example why isn’t her name album and One in A Million on iTunes?? Then muthafuckas get upset feeling it’s disrespectful to her to not be familiar with her ; but nobody (fam/peers) is honoring her memory. Now ya wonder why everyone saying Brandy and Monica were also superior than her, nobody reminding folks of her music but death of that plane crash. Then when Drake did Enough Said.. and all hell broke loose leading us with no album -.- yet the views were high on Youtube till this day. Could you imagine if Michael, Whitney, Elvis, and Tupac families did that to their fans there be a HUGE DEMAND And Backlash.

  12. Mark111 September 25, 2014

This could’ve been something special, but shady people and their shady ways messed it all up. Look how fun the TLC film was with everyone’s input (well the one’s that matters). With all that said, it’s amazes me how respected and influential Aaliyah’s career is. Just 7 years (5 year gap between her 2nd and 3rd album with 2 soundtrack hits) and this girls was already an actress, singer, model and dancers. R&B icon, Princess of R&B.

    • BeyRihLiyah September 25, 2014

the only shady people are jomo and barry they have been trying to make money off of Aaliyah for years they are the only “family” wanting a movie

      • Mark111 September 25, 2014

She had great parents and a brother, cause you could tell that Aaliyah was never all about the money. Her uncle and cuzz are the devil. I don’t understand why they can’t just get new artist for their whack ass record label.

    • BeyRihLiyah September 25, 2014

that record label of theirs been bankrupt that’s why they tried to do that duet album with drake and that’s why their trying to get a big screen biopic now Aaliyah was the bread winner

    • Kaycee September 25, 2014

Shes respected because she died tragically. Nothing more or less. She probably would have ended up like Brandy or Monica (even they have sold more).

      • Mark111 September 25, 2014

Monica never sold more than Aaliyah on any album. Brandy was nothing more than a t*** star, hint why she never had a hit nor successful album after the age 19.

  13. Ozzy September 25, 2014

I’m here for this. The girl playing her looks like Aaliyah and a side note( I loved Aaliyah’s fashion sense). She SLAYED her style. Bye to FlopCiara saying she looks like Cierror……That may be cause your flop fave took her sound/style. Despite the fact that Wendell is working on it, I’ll still watch this hot mess.

    • Mark111 September 25, 2014

Right? The nerve! How can one look like Cerror when she’s just a Aaliyah and Janet off brand?

    • FutureCIARA September 25, 2014

      STAY PRESSEDT! U and @FarmersMarket666

  14. RoyalKev September 25, 2014

I’ll be watching, although this film is in some dangerous hands (Wendy Williams). I only hope that Aaliyah “the artist” is celebrated more than any of the scandals surrounding her career.

  15. CATFISH CAREY September 25, 2014

I CANT AT THE OTR TOUR GETTING ON 888K VIEWERS WHILE JUSTIN BEIBER AND GAGA GOT MORE VIEWERS

    • Tyler September 25, 2014

Don’t you stan for Pon De Forehead

      • CATFISH CAREY September 25, 2014

        NO I DONT

    • ME September 25, 2014

how did the the monster tour gross ?

      • LOL September 25, 2014

LOL 229 MILLION DEAR. FAR MORE THAN 888K VIEWERS ON HBO TOO LOL.

  16. Monica Stan September 25, 2014

I’ll definitely watch it, I love Aaliyah. To this day, music in general hasn’t been the same for me since she passed. Her style, her voice, her attitude, and her beauty, was EVERYTHING.

    • BeyRihLiyah September 25, 2014

did you see what monica tweeted about aaliyah during her askmo session yesterday that me feel good monica is such a class act 🙂

      • Monica Stan September 25, 2014

Monica’s my girl, I love her.

  17. Brian310 September 25, 2014

The fact that NO ONE she was close with had a helping hand In this all I need to know I will not be supporting this film.

    • Someone September 25, 2014

      I agree. Sounds very shady.

    • NICKIMINAJ QUEEN September 25, 2014

this movie was base on the book not her family

  18. Dana September 25, 2014

To be honest with you, I do not see how anyone with true morals can support this movie. Since when was her business with R. Kelly (which I’ve been hearing was a publicity stunt by her Uncle Barry, but I’m not sure.) any of our business? If that had been any one of the actors involved or any of the people saying they wanted to see it’s children, they would’ve been the first ones saying don’t do this movie. Aaliyah held a very private life, therefore we already know that based on CJ Farley and Wendy Williams, who is a very shady ass woman, it’s gonna be a movie filled with bs and lies 9 times out of 10. Another thing, Aaliyah’s mother Diane and her brother Rashad (may Aaliyah and her father rest in peace) don’t want this movie done. I find it hilarious that Barry, Jomo, lifetime, and everyone else who is either making a movie or doing down right shady s*** is only getting called out by Aaliyah’s fanbase and no one else. This is so low down and dirty. I just can’t seem to process how anyone here can support any of these people, any of these movies, or anything they do in the name of Aaliyah. Ugh…smh. R.I.P. Babygirl. And please watch over your mother and brother.

  19. Jessica September 25, 2014

Ok. I dont know much about her in my country. Yet shes supposed to be this huge R&B ‘icon’ according to her fans. Only song I know is that Timberland one. So I might watch it.

  20. vh1access Blog September 25, 2014

I hope this biopic is nothing like the Brittany Murphy one. That one was horrible

  21. #TeamTinashe Stan (Pre-Order “Aquarius” Now On iTunes) September 25, 2014

    SMH! Just SMH!
And Laughing My Motherfcking A** off (LMMFAO) towards that desperate comment of saying she looks like Ciara, basically saying ole girl looks like a garbage truck man.

  22. Lmfao_Hoe September 25, 2014

I understand where everyone is coming from with this matter but come on. How the hell does Aaliyah ‘ family expect people (generations) to remember her legacy if you won’t put her music/movie out there ! • SMH September 25, 2014

Her family doesn’t owe anybody anything. That was THEIR family member, not yours.

    • Dana September 25, 2014

That’s the thing. The younger generation knows about youtube. Aaliyah has interviews, live shows, videos, and song lyrics on there. Not everyone needs a big posthumous release. Yes, one would be nice. But it could be done without Barry Hankerson or lifetime and Wendy Williams doing things like releasing unnecessary movies and giving Aaliyah’s music to God knows who. Aaliyah’s mother should be the one to do the movie because she knows her baby more than any person on this earth. Therefore if the time comes when Mrs. Haughton decides she wants to do one then that’s when I and any other Aaliyah fan will support it. With Barry just breaking his little sister’s heart from left to right, he should know that just because he was working with his niece for her career doesn’t give him the right to go giving her songs to Chris Brown, Drake and other artists. Aaliyah RARELY went out of her circle to collaborate with other artists. All I’m saying is, Miss Diane and Rashad need to get control of Aaliyah’s estate, then they need to put these disrespectful individuals in check. THEN, if they feel like they’re ready to move past the grieving stage, they can release new songs, they can do a movie, they can have Aaliyah Music Festivals (similar to the Left Eye Music Fest). Until then, everyone who isn’t them needs to leave Aaliyah’s legacy alone like her story and life is theirs to tell.

  23. LOL September 25, 2014

LOL I’LL BET IT GETS FAR MORE THAN 888K VIEWERS LMAO

  24. Lolz September 25, 2014

SCREAMING @ them talking about OTR like it didn’t just gross over 100 million and 100% sold out when their fave can’t even SELL 800k anymore (Gaga) and its still more than 600k NON premium (styled to FLOP) Lmao. The struggle.

I don’t think I support this movie, but Alexandra is an amazing actress. She IS black, she’s not fat, she’s beautiful, talented and has an incredible voice. She fits Aaliyah perfectly. 🙂 Loved her on Victorious, House of Anubis and Awkward. 🙂

  28. Peuterey Sito Ufficiale December 14, 2014

Ms. Sharpe says any future deal needs to be more in the open. She says no one is even sure exactly how much oil Sudan produces. China has the largest oil pumping operation there.
