NeNe Leakes Dishes On Replacing Joan Rivers On Fashion Police…And Leaving ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’

Published: Thursday 9th Oct 2014 by Sam

NeNe Leakes is a busy bee.

Beyond her “originale” status on ‘The Real Housewives Of Atlanta’, the reality star has flipped that platform into multiple opportunities – including acting and fashion gigs with ‘Glee’ and the Home Shopping Network respectively.

And with new reports suggesting that she’s gearing up to replace the late, great Joan Rivers on E!’s Fashion Police, the outspoken star is weighing in on the rumors.

Watch below as she spills all to Extra, including her long-term status on ‘Housewives’.

We love us some NeNe, but have to wonder aloud whether leaving Housewives after its upcoming seventh season would be in her best interest.

Sure, she has her hands in multiple pots and is stirring them all concurrently. But, it’s as if none of her dishes are ready to serve yet. Put simply, she still has a way to go on the acting front and her HSN clothing is just getting off the ground. As such, from where we’re standing, we’d rather watch the process behind her side-projects play out on ‘Housewives’.

Regarding Ms. Leakes replacing Joan, those are some pretty tall stilettos to step into. On the one hand, she makes for compelling viewing and can “read” with all the herbs and seasoning that make for a spicy watch. Yet, we’re sure there’ll be a sect of folk wondering what style credentials she has to be heading up a panel to judge others. Understandably.

The solution? We say shake up the show in its entirety, retain a few of its hosts, install an established veteran in Joan’s position and allow NeNe to replace someone else on the panel.

What does Nene’s country ass know about fashion? Marlo used to dress her big ass until they got into a fight and the queens took over. No thanks. No Joan = no fashion police IMO.

Nobody cares about your opinion. I bet you’re still wearing the latest Body Shop fashions.

She would be stupid to keave housewives. There is no guarantee that Fasgion Police will have longevity without Joan but everybody know Housewives will alwaya be hot because people like real drama and it is the hot thing now and more of a guarantee in her case. Nene dont be a fool plus we love your one liners.

I dont see Fashion Police for her. She doesn’t have the same comedic timing or fashion pull to ever fill Joan’s shoes. I don’t even think it would be wise, as the article says, to let go of any of the remaining hosts in exchange for Nene. Why would they lose their jobs because Joan passed? I love Fashion Police but the only real reason to watch was for Joan.

OMG, no!!! No, no, no, no. They should hire someone with substance, who knows fashion. Even a rotation of comedians would work better. The show will need to change its entire formula, otherwise it’ll bomb. That show was/is Joan Rivers.
