Halle Berry new show ‘Extant’ will be back.
The Sci-Fi hit, which follows the life of an astronaut who returned pregnant after a stint in space, has proven a steady ratings performer for CBS – who have awarded the series a second season.
Entertainment Weekly report that the Steven Spielberg drama has officially been renewed for another order of episodes.
The news will come as a relief to all involved with the show, after its fate was deemed to be in limbo by some industry analysts.
After all, the first season’s finale commanded a humble audience of 5.4 million viewers; which, though more than its preceding episode, was a far cry from the 9.58 million that watched the show’s premiere. On average, the series was watched 8.64 million during its freshman run.
It’s great to see CBS stick with the show and provide it scope to grow. Its numbers, while patchy and uneven at points, show that there is interest. In the event the series continues to deliver great writing and performances, we hope its audience climbs.
