Has Nicki Minaj found a friend in the UK’s Channel 5?
If a recent move made the channel is anything to go by, the answer to that question is yes, teaming up with their parent company ‘Viacom‘ to push the star’s name and face into the homes of millions across the UK.

On November 9th 2014, Minaj will follow in the footsteps of ‘Woohoo’ collaborator Christina Aguilera and host the ‘MTV European Music Awards‘ live from Glasgow.
Now, in a move set to work wonders for the rapper’s profile n the market, ‘5’ have announced that they are to air in 25 million homes across the country at 9 p.m local time, giving the show and its sassy host “access to the widest possible UK audience.”
David Lynn, president of Viacom International Media Networks U.K explained:
This is a fantastic opportunity to give access to the MTV EMA[s] to the widest possible U.K. audience and let everyone share in the excitement of one of the hottest nights in music. It’s another example of how our high-quality content can be shared and promoted between our channels to the benefit of all.

She’s already a household name in the UK but is suppose it’s good that it’s airing on one of the main five channels rather than Viva a couple weeks later.

You have to hand it to TGJ, always know how to make a story look like it’s in favour of artists they support… Channel 5 arent supporting Nicki Minaj, MTV are supporting Channel 5, who have just been purchased by their parent company Viacom. This is why Channel 5 is showing the EMA’s and would have done so with OR without Onika hosting…
not matter how you tiwst it her and other is benefiting from this.
