Ice Cube‘s ‘Barbershop’ franchise is being revived for a third outing, it has been confirmed.
Details below, including news on Nicki Minaj‘s potential involvement.
Deadline reports that the project is coming together fast and is being produced by Cube Vision along with MGM. New Line will release the flick, which doesn’t have a solidified release date yet.
What is certain, per the report, is that lucrative deals have been placed on the table for stars of the 2002 original and its 2004 sequel, including Cedric The Entertainer and Queen Latifah.
Interestingly, Nicki Minaj is said to be in discussions to join the cast too.
By no means in its infancy, pre-production on ‘Barbershop 3’ is at an advanced stage, with’ The Best Man’ maestro Malcolm D. Lee signed on to direct and Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver the confirmed scriptwriters.
