FOX are onto a winner with music drama ‘Empire’ and look set to make it the centrepiece of their newly announced primetime line-up.
As reported, Cookie and co will be back for a second season following the blockbuster ratings generated by the show’s first run. And if fans were worried about the wait until the season two premiere, they needn’t fret. For, despite just wrapping in March, the Lee Daniels production will be back later this year.
Per FOX, ‘Empire’ is officially slated to return in the Fall of 2015 and will run into the following year.
It’ll occupy the Wednesday “main event” slot of 9pm-10pm – as it did during its freshman run.
As well as leads Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, much of the cast have signed on for the sophomore season including Jussie Smollett, Bryshere Gray, and Trai Byers. What’s more, recurring cast-mates Gabourey Sidibe and Ta’Rhonda Jones have been upgraded to regulars.
We’re ready for season two…are you?!
