Simon Cowell is playing no games with the restructuring of his ‘X Factor UK’ empire.
The hit show returns to screens this summer and, as reported, will boast new judges in the form of Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw – who join returning panelists Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Cowell himself.
Today, it’s been revealed that major changes are also being made to its sister-show, ‘The Xtra Factor’ – most notably with its hosts.
Rochelle Humes, a centrepiece of Pop outfit The Saturdays, has been unveiled the show’s new co-host. She’ll present this series alongside KISS FM DJ Melvin Odoom.
The pair, who replace the departing Sarah Jane Crawford, are personal friends and have previously collaborated on BBC panel series ‘Sweat The Small Stuff’ – ironically with new judge Nick Grimshaw.
Speaking on her new role, Rochelle says:
“I have watched The Xtra Factor for years so I am beyond excited about joining such a brilliant team and getting to work with my old friend Melvin makes it even better. I also can’t wait to meet the contestants and be a part of their X Factor experience.”
“I’ve always been a massive fan of the show and to get to present The Xtra Factor is a dream for me. We are there to support the contestants and have fun – I’m really looking forward to it!”
Congrats to Rochelle and Melvin!
