Just yesterday, we mused on what we’d like to see in the upcoming eighth season of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta.’ Fast forward 24 hours and it appears our wish for fresh faces has come to fruition.

A slew of sources are confirming that actress Kim Fields has officially joined the cast of the hit Bravo reality series.
Both the network and Fields have remained notable in their silence, however this is often common-practice with previous recruits; indeed, producers routinely “test” the “talent” to determine whether they become a full-fledge “Housewife” or a supporting “Friend Of” – roles Claudia Jordan and Demetria McKinney took on respectively last season. Neither have been invited back.
For those who don’t yet know the newest name set to join Nene and co, Fields rose to prominence playing Regine Hunter on hit sitcom ‘Living Single.’ She currently lives in Atlanta with her husband, Christopher Morgan, and their two sons.

After clearly missing the mark with Claudia and Demetria, it’s great to see producers secure a name that is relatively known and a name that has claim to the ethos of the show.
It’ll be interesting to see how she mixes and meshes with her cast-mates the group.
I think Kim is waaaaaaaaayyyyy too classy to be on a show with Nene Leakes, but this could be a good career boost.
Think this is a good choice! But to say she’s too classy to be on a show with NeNeleaks and u only know her as an actress not a person ……. ??? Give up hating ass

It seems like a successful career move. I know Demetria McKinney got a lot of success off of being on the show. It even really helped impact her music on the radio, as I once rarely heard her on the radio. Hopefully, this doesn’t put Kim Fields in too much of a negative light. I know many look highly of her, considering she is an actress. I don’t know her personally, so I can’t say she would be too classy. I’ve only known her for a role she played, not her actual portrayal.
WAY TOO LOW BROW OF SOMEONE HER STATURE, BUT I’M ALL HERE FOR SEEING HER BACK ON MY TV SCREEN. BESIDES, REALITY STARS ARE BEING TREATED LIKE A-LIST HOLLYWOOD ROYALTY. SO, SHE MIGHT AS WELL.
ALL i know if she gives us the shade and pure hilarity of Regine on the show, I’m ALL the way here for it!
I don’t know what to think, but I hope she does well on RHOA. Kim Fields has been on TV for decades — first as Tootie on Facts of Life (huge ratings hit in the 80s) and then as Regine on Living Single — but this will give her a chance to show us the real woman behind the characters. And of course, this is the producers of RHOA rubbing it in the faces of both Nene and Kenya, b/c Kim Fields achieved a level of success as an actress considerably higher than either of the two of them has.
