The View‘s Raven-Symone has shared her thoughts on footage of a police officer assaulting an African-American teenager at Spring Valley High School.

The distribution of the disturbing scene on social media and international news has led to the officer losing his job but that didn’t stop the outspoken Symone from weighing in on the matter with comments set to place her in headlines this week.

Watch below…

She shared:

The girl was told multiple times to get off the phone. There’s not right or reason for him to be doing this type of harm, that’s ridiculous. But at the same time, you gotta follow the rules in school. First of all, why are there cellphones in school? This shouldn’t even be a problem to begin with, and he shouldn’t have been acting like that on top of it.

What do you think of Raven’s stance?

Is this the same Nappy headed black chick who does not want to be black. Why when minorities get money – they forget they black or they go get some blonde weave.

She is a disgrace and a horrible role model

    • Mother October 28, 2015

      I sense major shade????

It hurt my heart just to watch that video. What’s even worse is that the ONLY student to speak up against it in the classroom was arrested. Black people have been conditioned over the years to be afraid to speak out against things like this. We’ve always been told that “whatever happens in this house stays in this house”, but no more. If black people can band together on twitter in unity to get a racist white girl dressed as Nicki Minaj for Halloween in blackface expelled and her admission to college rescinded for her attention seeking and trouble encouraging antics, then we sure as hell can get that officer at least a few charges. It was wrong what he did to that little girl, and horrible for those kids, and even that teacher, to witness that unnecessary violence.

YouTube Joy DeGruy. She changed my life when she spoke about this. Victims are always told to shut up so that their aggressors can live in peace.

Indeed! It’s a common occurrence in the black community and I’m freaking tired of it. Someday, somebody has to stand up and decide to live for themselves and not their parents/families. It’s honestly out of hand and it prevents healing because all that frustration and hurt just adds up over time and it sends the victim into overdrive if he/she can’t get it out and talk about it.

Raven is such a dumb dÿke ass b****

    • Chile, leave my weave at the door and don’t steal it like those broke ass barb stans October 28, 2015

It would’ve made my day if Ci pulled her to the side and talked some sense into that he see-confused self-hating witch. It bet she would’ve delivered classy shade and gave her a tongue lashing without even cursing as eloquently as possibly.

      • #JACKIE October 28, 2015

Chile Raven is LOST! Even her own dad said she says dumb s***! Where is her publicist? Her likability is at zero right now.

It’s over for her! She’s officially committed career sliced and now she’s been erased from the memories of every black person that grew up with her. Next, she’ll be fired from the show. That’s okay, though. At least she’s exposing herself, so that we can help her dig that hole even deeper to bury and forget about her.

I agree with everyone that the force applied by the officer was excessive, but Raven also has a point. The student was not following class rules and defied the teacher and then the officer who was called to escort her from the class. She was then placed under arrest. Don’t do bad things and expect good outcomes.

Still, that was not a wrestling ring for him to play WWE in. He didn’t have to body slam that little girl. A grown ass man like that KNOWS better. If she didn’t comply with his request to leave, he could’ve just simply grabbed her by the arm without using unnecessary force. He’s a racist and he took advantage of that opportunity to the fullest because he knows he won’t get one again.

      • ronnoc October 28, 2015

He’s a racist? Why dont you back that up with something other than your opinion.. I in no way agree with/ condone this man’s behavior, but you’re really trying to throw in the race card and say it happened bc she was black? Nah, I’d say more of a respect issue than a race issue

  5. Usual Observer October 28, 2015

Who knew Raven was such a bigoted, insensitive asshole, though?

  6. Usual Observer October 28, 2015

These teachers and administrators aren’t crazy. They know damn well kids have cell phones on them at school regardless of the rule. Many parents would rather their kids have them in the event of emergencies. The kids just make sure they don’t get caught with them. It’s not like they are committing a damn felony by having a cellphone. -_- and kudos to the kid who recorded this incident! This needed to be seen and talked around the nation.

  7. No favs, just here for the music October 28, 2015

I’m a little bit confused at the blatant contradiction of Raven’s statement.

So she understands this officer used unnecessary excessive force but at the same time she makes it seem like the female student had it coming because she was on her phone??? Which is it? Because clearly he was wayyy of out line on her phone or not.

NEVER PUT YOUR HANDS ON ANYONE LIKE THAT EVER. ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS GIRL WAS NOT EVEN PHYSICALLY THREATENING THAT P**. DISGUSTING.

  8. #JACKIE October 28, 2015

It was not necessary for him to throw that girl around like that. I don’t give a f*** if she refused to move. She was not a threat to anybody seeing as though she was just sitting there. That’s why his ass got fired!

    • Chile, leave my weave at the door and don’t steal it like those broke ass barb stans October 28, 2015

Termination isn’t enough for me. I need that devil p** behind bars so that others can practice using “excessive force” on him. Well see how he feels about that when the tables are turned all the way around.

  9. ????Queen Molly???? October 28, 2015

Raven said nothing wrong this time why is it ok for her little ass to misbehave and be disrespectful? The officer was totally wrong like Raven said but teach your child some respect.

    • ronnoc October 28, 2015

      ???????? thank you

  10. Usual Observer October 28, 2015

Y’all do know the guy was fired behind this, right? So, there is NO justification to it.

  11. Everyone’s A Critic October 28, 2015

This b**** needs a muzzle, strapping to a chair and then she needs her eyes taped open so she can be forced to watch the colour purple, the help, the butler, ROOTS and then her own shows which were only popular because they were BLACK characters. Then maybe the coconut will realise how dumb (by Kelly Rowland-check that hot stuff out) she sounds!
She might be half while but the whole world sees her as BLACK! She tries too hard not to fit the stereotype but her name is ghetto and unemployable too- she needs to be checked

    • #JACKIE October 28, 2015

She ain’t half nothing kii both of her parents are black. She’s so dumb

  12. Usual Observer October 28, 2015

Right! I can’t remember the lady’s name. But, Raven got read by some white lady in a discussion on the View following her Watermelondra comments. She was seething.

  13. ????Queen Molly???? October 28, 2015

“black people need to learn how to act civilized if they don’t won’t to be treated in this manner”

    ______
Preach! I do feel bad for the girl tho she didn’t deserve all that

    • jlove October 28, 2015

I fully agree with what you say …they need to pull them self up they think they can just tell other people what ever they want act stupid in the road … I’m sure she ignore the guy and he got angry…you don’t wanna get up then I’ll get you up !!! Don’t make my work hard

  14. AnnaliseKeatingsNewWig October 28, 2015

And your ass belongs on the end of my boot, you disgusting no-good racist WH0R3. Are you upset that society won’t accept your radical form of thinking, so you have to voice your pathetic opinions on blogs (because you would get fûcked up in real life, If you ever spoke those words?). You’re a failure and one day you will face the consequences of your distorted thinking (FYI I hope you end up in a hospital, instead of a grave, so you have the opportunity to improve yourself). #PrayingForYou!

  17. Anti (hives scared of R8) October 28, 2015

What the officer did was worse than a 100 pound girl pulling out a cell phone. Watch all the mentally slaved negros say she deserved it.That’s the problem with the black community.Being aggressive is teaching.Thank God, Not every human thinks like this half breed dinosaur.

  18. Tyler Makivelli October 28, 2015

What the office did was unnecessary AND excessive….but wtf else is new?????
    This is b*******.

  19. Lover of music October 28, 2015

I like the way she is slowly exposing her true colours…. I dont think loosing the job was enough, few months behind bars! A man putting his hands on a woman is a definate NO,,A grown a§s man for that matter!!
Dont get me wrong,i understand it is not a good thing to go to school with a phone BUT was that amount of violence necessary! The poor thing was not even fighting back

  20. jlove October 28, 2015

She deserved it ..show respect to get respect. ..yall just talking but black people will always be disrespectful. .and they think it’s all ok

    • Anti (hives scared of R8) October 29, 2015

UMM How can you teach someone to be respectful by showing aggression? If all Americans thought this way this would be another third world country.Maybe you should get slammed for all your evil doings. Reply to me next time.Gay love

  21. October 28, 2015

Raven is the head house n-gger.

  22. Ciah’s Turtle October 28, 2015

She makes a point. Black ppl should actually chill WHENEVER cops are involved now. You would think the girls would get it. They aint safe either.

  23. eric October 28, 2015

He used excessive force, but the issue started with the t***. If there’s any outrage, it should be toward the fact that there are many more young people already disadvantaged and wasting their education to try and show out when they ought to be concentrating on using their education as a ticket to a better future. The girl has one job and that’s to go to school and act like she’s ready to learn.

  24. Lake Erie October 28, 2015

Evidently her audience thought different to give her a round of applause. Smh I don’t care if the girl was on 2 phones in class, HE shouldnt have put his hands on her. We had security guards at my school that use to do some of my classmates almost the same way. So I’m really not surprised, but it still irritated TF outta me. Just another security guard taken his rent a cop job to the head. I hope justice is served.

  25. Liam October 29, 2015

For once Raven is right I agree with her the student shouldn’t been using her phone and that security had no reason to be violent towards that student….for the ppl saying she was being ignorant n stupid clearly didn’t watch the video

  26. The Truth October 29, 2015

What has happened to my people?! Is the only thing u see in this video is RACE?! Yes the man was dead wrong, but BLACK PEOPLE KNOW HOW BLACK KIDS CAN BE!!!! If u don’t raise them to respect u, they won’t, and they usually don’t. Kids are smart. She was told to put her phone away many times, and the girl ran her mouth, rolled her neck, and told that officer what he WASNT going to do. Y’all know how WE can be! Yes he was wrong, but I agree with Ravin and I AM BLACK! Kids shouldn’t have phones in school. Period. They aren’t doing research. They aren’t penciling in homework time. They are on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Gaming. In other words CHEATING THEMSELVES OUT OF AN EDUCATION. The officer was wrong, yes, but I’m so dern ashamed to be black. Y’all get offended over the dumbest issues just to complain about race, but most of my people are dumb, ignorant, lazy, and just as everyone else. Stop falling into the racism trap and LEARN HOW TO RAISE YOUR DERN KIDS! PERIOD!!!!
