The ‘Love & Hip-Hop’ franchise is renown for serving up ratchet reality on weekly rotation. However, in an interesting move, the show used its platform this week to broadcast an engaging debate.
Titled ‘Out In Hip-Hop,’ the spin-off panel discussion honed in on what is still a taboo topic in the hyper-masculine arena of Rap – homosexuality.
Born out of uproar caused by the arrival of gay couple Milan and Miles on the Hollywood branch of the series, the one-off special (hosted by TJ Holmes) featured both gay and straight artists as well as cultural figures waxing honest about their experiences in the industry.
Featured were the likes of Ray J, Lil Fizz, and D.M.C from iconic group Run D.M.C.
Can a gay rapper ever succeed in the mainstream? Are they already doing so now? What really happens “behind the scenes”? These questions and more are addressed with refreshing candidness.
Watch below as ‘Love & Hip-Hop’ gets real (for real) after the jump…
A very forward-thinking discussion. Kudos to all involved.
Maybe LIL FIZ, OMARION could have enlighten us on there situation with Chris Stokes and Marques Houston.
Its a shame these boys are SCARED to come out and say that Chris Stokes and Marques Houston R_aped them because it may ruin there career.
Marques Houston and Chris Stokes need to be IN JAIL.
Speaking of Out In HipHop.. get into New Gay Rapper on the scene Cardi.A! He got bars and heat for the streets, for sure.

I actually decided to give this a listen and I’m glad I did. The 1991 track is better than the original by Azealia !

Any feedback would be great guys =)
Ki at you blogging within a blog
i know u got to pay the bill for this blog but the pop ups you cant even watch the vid
Lemme tell u something. I hate the fact that they chose these two queens to “represent” gays in Love and Hip Hop. It’s scripted b******* and I’m actually insulted at how they portray us (yes I’m gay). I HATE these dudes. Everybody knows there are artist that are gay and haven’t come out but this is why people don’t like gays because y’all get messy and start pointing fingers and putting magnifying glasses on people. By all means BE PROUD, but stop crying victim not EVERYONE has to accept it and if they don’t still LIVE YOUR LIFE. Ugh
Preach
You get a round of applause from me for your comment @Lana Del Zane preach on.
I meant @Lana Del Zave.
I say the same damn thing.. its only in the united state that gays people always cries as victims the whole s*** is tired.. thats why i love the UK people are gay or different we get it but the Americans are making the whole situation look so stupid because of there constant mess no one cares the whole show is scripted and them guys are playing for the checks and bring bad names to gay people.
we have successful powerful gay men all over the world and these two power bottom can do anything for checks.
Well said Lana Del Zave
I would’ve kii kii’d my little self all the way to the ground if they were somehow able to drag Berg there to give his input. After that tragic mess he tried with Masika last season, NO ONE can tell me that man doesn’t have compressed homosexuality. “Straight” men just don’t beat women for fun or because they’re bored. He NEEDED to sit there and talk that mess out of him.
I hope this love and hip hop special gave @Mark111 the strength he needs to come out it must be horrible living a lie.
Milan is a messy queen. She 30 but trying to model for nasty little sites.
Queen you have a Man “at least on camera” and you still on IG posing semi-n***. HOT MESS
I caught that tea too when the show began. A MESS and nothing less. Thanks for spilling that tea though.
I love the LGBT community! My older bro is gay and taught me how to read a b**** and be oval at a young age. Lord knows I can’t stand a messy, late butch queen like the ones portrayed here.
lmao yes !
b**** Who are you? don’t come for me hunni
Can’t stand them, but Milan could get the D 4 a nite
