Stateside goat charmers were in for a treat this morning as actress/reality TV star Nene Leakes showed off her lamb chops singing chops for audience members of ‘The View.’
As fans know, the diva “ditched” her claim to fame as part of the saucy group of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ to try her hand at Broadway in ‘Cinderella: The Musical’ and other forthcoming television ventures.

@You Tried, I find your statement absolutely ridiculous. Broadway performers are usually incredibly talented singers and actors who have perfected and fine-tuned their craft for years. People who are invited to the Grammys to perform like Taylor, Katy, Britney couldn’t possibly do what the artists on Broadway do. And they do it without lip-synching yet still sounding like a studio recording. Congrats to NeNe for capitalizing on her reality show roots but to discredit the performers on Broadway by saying she only has to be capable at singing is an insult to everyone who actually worked hard and made their dreams come true with actual talent. And for those Broadway performers who aren’t polished singers always have the acting chops to pull through any performance. I’ve yet to see NeNe do anything but shout her lines in a false delusion of emoting.

Thanks for your long review of my comment! You are correct on some levels as far the incrediblely talented actors and actressss on Broadway and all their hard work they’ve put in! However BROADWAY and any other musical (A stage performer myself) has nothing to do with how well you sing! It’s about how into depth you are with your CHARACTER! To shade RICHBITCCH NeNeLeaks is very RIDICULOUS of you speaking that she’s been on Broadway before and also on a HIT series tv show! Honey if being on reality TV can get you on BROADWAY one of the most popular TV shows in the 00’s how come she stands as one of the only ones if not THE ONLY ONE who can at this FEAT to her Wikapedia page??!!

@You Tried, you’re confusing my response to your comment as a review. And I take your calling it that as giving you some false sense of superiority, which you can have because it’s obvious you need it. But I fully stand by what I said not only about Broadway performers but also that in Glee all NeNe played was a loud-mouth character just as she did on The New Normal. With her it’s always just more of the same. However, I do respect that she took her role as a loud-mouth character on a reality show and propelled a pretty lofty career out of mining that same old tired terrain. My issue was with your need to discredit studied and learned performers in an effort to justify NeNe’s alleged talent and opportunities others with genuine talent are still struggling to receive while NeNe, once again, has gotten there off the cliche of the loud, black, finger-snapping, neck-swerving performance that makes most people cringe. Good for her in being able to ride that to the bank, but let’s not pretend like she’s so dynamic an actress or singer (which is what you implied in your original post), and please don’t diminish other actually talented people for not selling out to get there.
