Despite a dip in ratings, the world still has ‘Empire’ fever. As such, FOX have obliged the masses by renewing the Lee Daniels music drama for a third season.

The news is timely; it comes on the heels of lead Taraji P. Henson‘s win for her role of Cookie Lyon at the 2016 Golden Globes.
Also anchored by Terrance Howard and newcomers Jussie Smollett, Trai Byers, and Bryshere Gray, the show (which debuted one year ago) tells the tale of a music dynasty and their focus on family amidst the theater of the showbiz.

Hopefully, the next season channels more of what made its initial run so captivating. Because aspects of the current season feel as if it’s being made up on an episode by episode basis.
