Kerry Washington is making power moves!

The award-winning ‘Scandal’ actress just scored a dynamite deal with the show’s housing network ABC.

According to Deadline, Washington has inked a lucrative contract with the TV giant and its its cable/digital division ABC Signature Studios.

The move will see Washington’s newly launched production company – Simpson Street (named after the road her mother grew up in the Bronx) – develop broadcast, cable and digital projects exclusively for ABC.

Prior to this partnership, Washington’s first Simpson Street output was the successful HBO movie ‘Confirmation.’

Speaking on the ABC venture, the 39-year-old  mother of one said in a statement:

“I believe strongly in the importance of having a seat at the table, which makes starting this production company thrilling for me. It’s an honor to be at a point in my career when I can help generate projects that that are exciting, necessary and truly reflect the world around us. I’m grateful to be on this journey with ABC, a network that remains unparalleled in its commitment to inclusive storytelling.”

Granted ‘Scandal’ has been renewed for a 6th season, it’s smart to develop a fruitful future for herself beyond the show. That’s a true gladiator!
