Seem like ages way? Fear not.

For, fans of the Viola Davis-fronted thriller won’t have to wait until then to sink their teeth into what may be a major season three plot twist.

Last season brought with it an explanation behind Annalise Keating‘s (Davis) deep, dark and dangerous ties to the childhood’s of one of her law students, Wes Gibbins.

Its finale delivered the shooting of the man believed to be his father…or did it?

Digital Times reports:

While the show suggested that Mahoney raped Rose (Wes’ mother) and was the father, at no point was there any concrete evidence like a DNA test, confession or paternity test. In fact, Annalise’s only proof was that she could see it in Rose’s eyes.

There could, however, be another Mahoney who is Wes’ father: Charles Mahoney (portrayed by Hart of Dixie alum Wilson Bethel). The younger Mahoney was on trial for killing his fiancee. If he is Wes’ father, then Wes would be Wallace Mahoney’s grandson.
