To go where exactly? I hate to say it, but no one’s really here for his music and his stage presence sucks. He should stay with the show and not fool himself into thinking that his star power is much bigger than what it actually is. Just saying!

As someone who still loves the show, I can’t see it surviving without Jussie.. The cast is strong but taking Jussie away is like taking Cookie away a huge element is missing, 🙁
I totally agree. I don’t see Empire surviving without Jamal. If I were Jamal, I would give it at least one more season…at least that will give the show some chance of going out gracefully.
This second season of Empire has truly been a bust. From the even more contrived story lines to the lacklustre music and Jussie singing every damn episode with that shaky-a**, Trey Songz vibrato! He really thinks he’s killing it though. I really wonder how he’s going to establish himself outside the show because judging by the sliding ratings and soundtrack record sales, it’s not going to be easy.
I thought I was the only one who noticed that. I think he can sing but he needs to control his vibrato a little more.
Jussie sounds like a sheep. While he is an attractive dude, he seems arkward on stage. He does not have the “it” factor, even the gay community is not pressed about his soft ass.

True this season has been less than stellar but it’s still early in the life of this show for them to turn it around. I enjoy Cookie, Beck, and Porsha’s characters.

I hate to say it, but empire made him. I really don’t see a future for him anywhere else besides the show. His voice is so annoying when he sings. He sounds like a feeble old weeping sheep. And his acting is okay. He just comes across stiff and awkward.

I can’t see what type of movies Jussie is planing on featuring in but it’s best not to leave unless you have a legit gig to go to, and i don’t know with the music as I’m not moved by anything from the season and Jussie’s voice is just meh.

Can we all cut the guy somes slang, its difficult as it is to be black and gay, and believe it or not most of us here in Africa relate with his role in the movie, why not just be happy for him, render than hating him and saying all nasty thing about his voice, while you busy hating him, he is busy making money and getting more famous.
I am in Africa and I dont relate to his character with my gay ass at AAAALLLL. He sounds worse than Trey Songz non-singing ass and he is only Jamal and not Jussie. We’ll see what mess he has in store

I will believe it when I see it; it wouldn’t be the first time shows sent out false info to get the audience all revved up and Empire is still the number one TV show on Wednesday and is usually the number one show for the week or in the top three for the week, check the ratings and then the dvr ratings that’s added later, season 2 is horrible but the series is not a flop, it’s just that the ratings got so high that when they dropped they were still high, especially in the all important 18 to 49 y/o demographic, if Jussie does want to leave I’d recast the role. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2016/05/10/broadcast-weekly-top-25-may-2-8-2016/
Not that I think he makes the show or anything, but I think this is a sign that Empire will probably only last for one more season.
It’s ratings aren’t anything to scoff at, but with consistently declining viewership I’d guess the budget is rather high and the show will never regain the hype and freshness it had in it’s first season. Killing off a core character in its second season doesn’t seem to be a good sign.
