‘Underground’s second season has welcomed Aisha Hinds to its cast.

Who she is to portray?

The African-America hero Harriett Tubman.

Production on its second season starts on Monday and will see Hinds take on the important role after she was written into its storyline.

Unfamiliar with the project?

We’ll break it down.

A group of enslaved Africans find themselves unwilling and unable to endure the horrors of slavery and set out to escape via the underground railroad with hopes of reaching freedom.

Danger, darkness and drama fill the days of their lives.

‘Deadline’ adds:

The 10-episode new season of Underground follows an unremitting struggle for freedom within a divided America on the brink of civil war, each side vying to enact their own justice. Production on Season 2 begins Monday in Savannah, GA, for an early 2017 premiere.

The series’ first season picked up around 3 million viewers per episode and was WGN America’s most-watched original TV show ever in its opening season.

‘Deadline’ adds:

Tubman was the Underground Railroad’s most famous conductor — revered for her grit, perseverance and unrelenting will to help scores of enslaved people reach freedom. Born a slave, Tubman was a devout Christian who, after escaping herself, risked her life again and again to free her family members and lead anyone willing to journey north across hostile territory to freedom.

See, John Legend is doing all these shows about black people, Underground and The Black Wallstreet. I wonder what secrets the white people will spill and destroy him. They always do.
