Mariah Carey is ‘Empire’ bound.
As reported, the singer leads the list of major names guest starring on the upcoming third season of the FOX music drama.
The seasoned diva will play Kitty, a singer who comes to the Lyon-led label to duet with Jamal (played by Jussie Smollett).
In a new interview, the actor dished on what it was like working with Carey – who he says was very hands on.

News of new Mariah will always pique our interest. We just hope she sounds good and, in vocally producing Jussie, has him sounding acceptable too. Because his vibrato (more often than not) is almost offensive.
Carey’s appearance airs in October, while ‘Empire’ returns on September 21st.
