A live-action TV series following the adventurous lives of African female warriors is being developed by one of the minds behind the TV series ‘NCIS.’

Full story below…

Charles F. Johnson and the producer Karen Gordy have joined forces with French producer-director-writer Joy Fleury to create ‘Amazons.’

In it, viewers will be introduced an army of 6,000  West African female warriors who fought against their French oppressors and anyone who dared to threaten their Dahomey kingdom.

As to ensure the show is historically accurate, its creatives have welcomed Suzanne Preston Blier, an African studies professor at Harvard, to its camp and will base the project’s storylines on information her research has provided.

A network is yet to be tied to the exciting release.

Sound like a joke even to me an African. I know of only one female warrior called Queen Amina who was from Northern Nigeria. Trust is that I don’t know about the rest of the continent but to call the show amazon is just so wrong. That’s south American.

If Beyonce is not staring it it i don’t understand why she is the main picture?

    • LISA LEVINE August 3, 2016

Because she looks like a huge T*****. With no speaking ability and the intellect of a 7 year old child.

I’m probably one of the biggest fans of Beyoncé but the thirst is real on Thatgrapejuice

I understand using the Beyonce pic to get clicks on the article, but it takes away from the story altogether. Do better next time guys. Being able to say “it worked” should be beneath u at this point.

Beyonce is a destroyer of the community along with jayz with their harmful lyrics and imagery and values

Materialism, glorifying drug dealing, normalizing theft and lack of integrity, downplaying education, colorism

Their presence has definitely weakened our community we were in better shape. They are part and parcel of thebprison industrial system and the nwo to destroy and imprison us as always has been the program

They need to go to fictitious island and stay there and let us heal as a community and reconnect with our true values and it isn’t fake liar, copycatting, looking down on people ….no that’s not us

    Who needs a degree–beyonce

I can do more for the people than Martin–beyonce

    Hop to the next dixx–beyonce

And she is by no means ‘classy’ more perversion and reprogramming of our values and mindsets as bw are classy, modest and humble…Beyonce is not and is noone to look up to for anything but lewd dancing, hair swinging and and and ….nothing else

To clarify, do I think Beyonce/jay knows what their handlers are using them to do…..no

Theyres not intelligent enough and that is why the use her, aaliyah wouldn’t have nor any previous act

If they knew I uld they care, I doubt it as they are also narcissist

And dumb narcissist are perfect pawns and that is why having an educated community is important so noone can be in used as a weapon by these evil people who are in charge

But some more of us are sellouts though, I don’t know if they are or not but they have been used as tools and weapons to reprogram the youth

  11. Briano August 3, 2016

And the systems other pawns (Obamas) were used to legitimize them

As when has the black community put lack of education and drug dealing on a pedestal?

  12. Briano August 3, 2016

And not just lack but actually being anti education

    Who needs a degree- Beyonce

  13. OMG Logic!!! August 3, 2016

While it looks fascinating, it looks to be heavily influenced by Islam and not really much about actual Africans. Pass.

    • Caleb August 4, 2016

Since when are followers of Islam not “actual Africans”? Have you not heard of the Songhai or the Malian empires of West Africa? Read Precolonial Black Africa by Dr. Cheikh Anta Diop.
