As the cowardly criminal George Zimmerman seeks new ways to exploit his slaying of the African-American teenager Trayvon Martin, the rapper Jay-Z has announced plans to honour the victim’s life with two new movies.

Jay signed a production deal with The Weinstein Company last year and has committed to creating a number of projects designed to lift the lid on America’s often sinister treatment towards the African-American community.
Today, he has revealed that he has optioned the rights to two books “Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It” by Lisa Bloom; and “Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin,” by Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.
One of these books will be used to create a documentary and other will be used as the launching pad for a scripted feature film built to honour Martin’s life and expose his murder’s ties to systemic racism.
Premiere dates are yet to be set.
