Retro Rewind: ‘Subway Stories: Tales From the Underground’

Published: Saturday 1st Apr 2017 by David

As the world of TV and Film struggles to develop original concepts, today’s Retro Rewind sees us salute HBO for its continued to efforts to do just that.

In 1997, Richard Guay and Valerie Thomas produced the project ‘Subway Stories: Tales from the Underground’, a release which told the real stories of New York city subway users.

Enamoured by its grit and soul, HBO picked up ten of the stories and retold the stories with help from a number of gifted entertainers.

One of these was Taral Hicks.

Take that journey to the past with us below…

Taral Hicks should’ve been a big star. She had the looks and a nice voice. I bought her first album. It wasn’t great but Distant Lover was nice and the video for Silly was definitely hot.
